Fantom ($FTM) Rebrands to Sonic ($S)
Following a period of significant transformation, Fantom ($FTM) is now rebranding to Sonic ($S), an EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) layer 1 chain with the ability to handle up to 10,000 TPS (transactions per second) and compatible with reputed wallets such as MetaMask and OKX.
For BitDelta users, this change is simple and automatic. If you hold FTM tokens on the BitDelta exchange, the swap will be completed for you without any hassle. Here are the details you need to know:
Key Dates and Timelines
Delisting of FTM
- All pending FTM spot trading orders will be cancelled.
- Deposit, withdrawal, and trading services for FTM will close at 3:00 UTC on 13th January 2025.
Token Swap Details
- FTM tokens will be converted to Sonic (S) tokens at a 1:1 ratio.
- ERC-20 FTM tokens will be swapped to mainnet S tokens.
- A minimum holding of 1 FTM is required for eligibility.
Post-Swap Updates
- Deposit and withdrawal services for Sonic (S) tokens on the Sonic network will be available after the swap.
- Trading services for the S/USDT pair will also open shortly after the swap.
- Announcements on BitDelta’s social media will confirm when these services go live.
NOTE: Once the swap is finalised, FTM tokens will no longer be supported on the BitDelta exchange.
